Swiss Tool Watch | Start-Stop Timing | 38mm

A truly off-the-beaten-path piece from mid-century Switzerland. This Fero Sport Telemetre captures a moment when watches were built as instruments first and everything else second.

The outer red telemeter scale allows you to measure distance based on sound. Start the seconds hand when you see an event, stop it when you hear it, and read the distance directly on the dial. A simple, clever tool rooted in real-world use. The inner spiral scale adds another layer of timing functionality, giving the watch its distinctive, almost chaotic look.

This example stands out for its honest wear and striking patina. The dial has aged beautifully, with warm tones and strong character that cannot be replicated. It is bold, highly legible, and unmistakably from the 1950s.

Fero was a small Swiss maker out of La Chaux-de-Fonds, producing practical, design-forward watches in limited numbers. Pieces like this remain relatively obscure today, which is part of the appeal.

Mechanically, the watch is running well and has kept solid time during wear. It features a simple start-stop timing function operated via the pushers. Service history is unknown.
